They don't always work .. but if people could post up the thing they do, maybe I could learn a new trick ...
..Fire Wall ...
I like to postion myself in either the "side" or "center" and then rotate my camara view to face the fire wall that I would have to move to avoid .. sorry I tried the top-down viewing ... just can't do it. Not saying I don't get hit by walls but when I do it's cause I was caught up in the casting and failed to move .
... Add's ...
OMG is all I can say there .. when ever I start Mind seering the add mass .. I die .. there just is no way for me to dump agro from a mod that has no other agro on it ...
... Fisures ...
I personally have better luck with these when I'm not standing in a group of other people ... Standing off away from the masses I seem to garner very little fissure agro, and when I do I can normally see it pretty easy. |

Here's what I try to do for this encounter:
When Drakes are up, if I see no adds anywhere I might go sunder a few times or thunderclap a drake to help reduce incoming damage and increase melee raid DPS.
- Side Note- Can somebody find out for me if Ebon Plague increases damage taken from ALL sources, or if it's just from the DK applying the disease? And are there any other comparable debuffs (30% increased physical damage taken and 10% increased magic damage taken? ftw)
When there are a jillion adds up, I try to not stun any of the fire elementals, otherwise they may become enraged (though fan of knives makes everything better, it pulls DPS off of the Drakes). When AoE starts, I try to make sure i'm far enough away from Sarth and Drakes that when I AoE taunt, I don't grab them too. Wiped a raid doing that once. It's not very fun.
The hardest part of this fight for me is trying to stay out of shadow fissures while tanking hatchlings and elementals. If I leave the nameplates up, I can't see void zones, but with them off I can't see any loose adds that are smacking the raid. In that case, I'll sometimes head toward whomever is pulling the most AoE threat and try to stay on top of them to keep them from dying, but then the same problem happens where they may not see a shadow fissure.
I'd have to say that, overall, we made some incredible progression last week. Let's get some more gear, take a deep breath, focus and bring our A games. This fight makes me nuts, but I also love the challenge, and I really love when we can make any sort of progress. |

hey guys! great idea Grey!
I personally stay mounted for the first movement. This lets me move pretty quickly after the first flame wall and i can get into position to hammer Tenebron as soon as Bel has Aggro. I usually position myself in the middle, but right next to where the right "sides" opening will be too so i can strafe into it. I have a pretty set rotation so i blow all my cooldowns and watch my feet the entire time. I have my camera at max distance and face it so i can see one of the flame walls. I know the timing of the fight so i know if the one side i can see all the time isn't coming to strafe to the other side. I used to think being away from a bunch of people helped me to get out of fissures, but it was taking up too much time moving, by watching my feet the whole time, i barely have to move and it ups my dps. When it comes to AOEing the adds, I take my time. I use my lowest threat spell, arcane explosion. I hit it once and then i count to two, etc. I go slow and steady, watching my threat on the add farthest away from tahnk. When its time to zone into the portal, i make sure that while the adds is going down, i position myself back in my beginning position of "in the middle towards the right side nearer to the side opening if its that wave." That way i only have to strafe if a fire wall is up when the add goes down and it zones us out. And i'm then in perfect position to continue my little dance onto Shadron.
